We now have another two amazing therapists who have joined us!!! Andrea Sornberger from the USA and Hafsa Ilyas from Pakistan. Andrea is a very experienced hand therapist and available for online bookings. Hafsa is new to hand therapy and if you would like to book with her please call 0800 77 88 70.
Our therapist Ffion is now on maternity leave and will be back middle of 2026. We wish you and your family all the best!

Inspire Rehab is registered ACC Hand Therapy and Physiotherapy provider.
We specialise in hand injuries with our therapists having a background in a diverse range of musculoskeletal injuries.
Inspire Rehab provides comprehensive hand therapy services to the Kapiti Coast community, supporting clients from Porirua through Paekākāriki, Paraparaumu, Waikanae, Te Horo, Ōtaki and up to Levin. We treat a wide range of conditions, including ACC-related injuries such as sprains, strains, fractures, and post-surgical rehabilitation, as well as longer-term issues like arthritis and occupational overuse.

Ffion John - Registered Hand Therapist
Ffion started her career when she graduated from Otago University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. Ffion has worked as a physiotherapist in private practice, more recently focusing on hand therapy, working as an Associate Hand Therapist. Ffion was born in Wales, moving to the Wellington region over 20 years ago. She has spent most of her career working on the Kapiti Coast and really enjoys the more relaxed environment.
Andrea Barr - Registered Hand Therapist
Andrea started her career as a Physiotherapist working throughout NZ, and Canada. With post-graduate qualifications in Sports Medicine, and Rehabilitation she now works primarily as a Registered Hand Therapist. Andrea and her family moved to Paraparaumu over 40 years ago. She is excited to be back home on the Kapiti Coast and is enjoying living and working in her local community.
Umme Aiman - Associate Hand Therapist
Umme started her career after completing a 5-years degree in Doctor of Physical Therapy from Foundation University Islamabad, Pakistan. She practiced as a Physiotherapist in Pakistan for 1 year before moving to New Zealand to work as an Associate Hand Therapist in March 2024. Umme says coming to New Zealand has been her first international experience, and has been a very positive one. She feels she has received a nice warm welcome from people on the Kapiti Coast.
Andrea Sornberger - Hand Therapist
Andrea started her career as an Occupational Therapist and Hand Therapist in Maine, USA. She spent a majority of her career in outpatient hand therapy and most recently taught in the OT program at university. Andrea has just moved to the Kapiti Coast with her children and looks forward to serving the community.
Hafsa Ilysa - Associate Hand Therapist
Hafsa completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Foundation University, Islamabad, Pakistan, where she graduated after five years of study. She then practiced as a physiotherapist in Pakistan for approximately two and a half years before moving to New Zealand to begin her role as an Associate Hand Therapist.
Hafsa describes her move to New Zealand as her first international experience, which has been very positive. She has felt warmly welcomed by the people of the Kapiti Coast and enjoys the region’s relaxed environment. She appreciates the respectful and inclusive culture, noting that people are kind, considerate, and value cultural diversity.

Pricing
If your injury is covered by ACC, Inspire Rehab do not charge for the appointment, bracing and splinting, however a charge will incur for exercise equipment, taping and wound dressings.
For private appointments there will be a charge for the appointment and all bracing, splinting and exercise equipment.
There is a $45 missed appointment charge for if you miss your appointment and do not let us know with 4 hours of notice before your appointment time.

At Inspire Rehab if you have had an injury that will be covered by ACC we can register your claim without needing to go to the doctor. An accident can occur in any location including at home, at work, playing sport or with any extracurricular activities. An accident is defined as an event that happens unintentionally at a defined moment in time that can result in damage or injury.

If an accident has caused your injury this can be covered by ACC. For your hand therapy treatment ACC can cover the cost of your apppointment, splinting and bracing costs. There may be a charge for exercise equipments, tape and wound dressings. Feel free to ask our team any questions or discuss whether you qualify for ACC.
